We invented our technology by accident

We needed a camera to take videos of laser fusion experiments. The frame rate needed was a few tens of trillions of frames per second. We couldn't buy camera that fast, so we made one, a very unconventional one.

It turns out our unconventional techniques are the solution to the most pressing issues in computer vision.

We couldn't help but start a company. We want the world to have access to our technology as soon as possible.

Our recently refurbished head office at Milton Park in Oxfordshire houses our bespoke lab and working space, where creative brains can collaborate and wind down over a social lunch or post work day drink. Our remote working colleagues offer a diverse and refreshing perspective from as far wide as Taiwan and Scotland.

We've been generously backed by Oxford Sciences Enterprises, Octopus Ventures, Foresight Williams (of Formula 1 fame), and Outsized Ventures. Our angel investors include Robert Swann, Max Hodak, and Robert Sansom.

We can’t wait to tell you more about what we’re creating!

At Living Optics, we are at the beginning of an incredibly exciting journey. Our technology will change how humans see objects and has applications across many sectors including surveillance, materials sorting, gas detection and human science.

For now, we’re focused on building our first products and on growing our wonderful team. Scroll below to check our current openings.
